Ouch. Pain. Sore. Soooo Tired.

August 31st, 2008 Filed under: Funny Ha Ha's, Flickr-liclious, Baby Talk, Just Me, Parenting Perspectives, Family Ties by Tammy

I am sore all over and physically exhausted as well. Lifting my arms feels like lifting 100 pounds, lol. But I feel happy and satisfied too. I attacked my house today and got so much done. About twice a year I rip apart each room in my house. It’s usually around February/March and then again around August/September. The garbage men HATE me on these days, lol. Ya know what amazes me the most?? It’s all the crap we manage to acquire in between these cleanings. In about 6 months time we seem to acquire enough crap for 2 more houses!! I keep tossing it out and they keep bringing it back.

Today I started cleaning at 10 am and I didn’t stop till after 6 pm. I cleaned Drew’s room from top to bottom. Washing his walls, vacuuming his floor, scrubbing his carpet, sorting, tossing and organizing his toys. Everything. Then I clean Ashley’s…same drill basically… minus the toy sorting, lol. The front hall and the entire living room got attacked today too. 8 hours! Next I have to hit my linen closet, my bedroom (again!! I have already clean my bedroom twice this year, lol.) and the kitchen (also again!) I have 4 huge garbage bags filled with crap I threw out and 3 filled with stuff to donate and I haven’t even gone through Drew’s clothes yet. I ran out of steam, lol.

And Drew…He has to own 1000+ cars…EASY!!! Look for yourself. This is every car he owns. Most are small matchbox cars. This bin is 2 feet long by 2 feet high by 1 foot wide. (2 x 2 x 1). And it’s filled to the brim.. and then some, lol. Do you think he needs more?? Hehe.

Drew's Cars

But after all of that… I have 70% of my house super squeaky clean. And over the next week I’ll probably finish the house… whew, lol.

Nothing Says COOL More Than…

…Army Pajamas and a ride on a BIG PINK 4-Wheeler.

Army Kid

Andrew’s Aunt Lynn and Uncle Paul gave this to him. It was Kelcey’s of course…as if the Pink & Purple didn’t give that away already. But Drew could care less what color it is. He was thrilled to have his own power wheels. He was so excited to go play with it he ran out in his Army Pajamas and hopped right on it. And what a sight he was, lol. But he loved it and had a blast. I can see many more happy days zooming around the neighborhood with this baby.

Thanks Aunt & Uncle!!

Heard in my house just moments ago:

Me: Because I think that this might be the last book in this series I am trying not to read Breaking Dawn too quickly. I want to savor it like I did with the last Harry Potter. I tried at least.
Ashley: Yeah.
Me: They say the last book has to be made into two movies.
Ashley: Wow, 2 movies?
Me: Yeah
Dani: So is the rolling stones going to do an 8th book then?
Me & Ashley: Rolling stones???
::: INSANE LAUGHTER HERE ::::
Me: That’s J. K. Rowling hun, lol And no Book 7 was the end.
Dani: (Obviously embarrssed) Ohhh Hush!

Admit One??

June 18th, 2008 Filed under: Funny Ha Ha's, Baby Talk, Just Me, Family Ties by Tammy

Or maybe that means two. Two as in two movies on one ticket. My kid has so graciously informed me that when you go to the movies and buy a ticket that means you are buying a pass for ONE person … too see as many movies as they can sneak into. You know… Buy one get one free… or two free. or three… depending on the time day. Verses what I always believe to be true… and that being you bought one ticket to go see one movie. She said…”It’s no big deal… I’ve done it before, lol” ::: shaking my head :::: As a parent I only have one thing to say about that…”I know nothing, I heard nothing” LOL!

She says… Buy one get one free. and I say.. Buy one, Sneak into one, get one felony. LOL

Hehehe. Kids and their logic… if only the world worked that way, lol.

Dear Wind,

Why must you be so cruel? Why must you blow my hair… into my face. I have asked you repeatedly not to and yet you continue to ignore my requests, as well as my feelings, and do it anyway. You have left me no choice… I am leaving you!

(( This message is brought to you from the mind of my 15 year old, Dani. She was very upset that the wind was blowing her hair into her face this morning in the car.))

…heard most often in my house, from the 4 yr old, over the last 24 hours.

“Mom, Is Ashley’s baby out yet??”

“Mom, I really want Ashley’s baby to come out.”

“Mom, can I have more candy.”

“Mom, when will Ashley’s baby come out?”

“Mom, I want to see Ashley’s baby right now.”

“Mom, When Ashley’s baby comes out, I am gonna name it bubba. Ashley says I can.”

“Mom, can I have just one more chocolate? Pleeeease!”

“Mom, when is Ashley’s baby gonna come out? Friday?”

Me: “How long were you going to wait in here?” Drew: “Till Ashley’s baby comes out.” Me: laughing. “Well then you’re going to be waiting a very long time.”

“Mom, I want one more piece of chocolate. Ok? Please? I’ll share with Ashley’s baby.”

“Mom, when Ashley’s baby pops out of her tummy…. [insert random crazy statements here].” (I have heard at least 100+ sentences that started this way in the last 24 hours, lol)

Are you seeing a few trends here? The only thing Drew cares about right now is Chocolates & Ashley’s baby, lol. I wonder if he’s going to make it to September without having a “I want to see the baby” melt down, lol.

I Guess You Had To Be There…

March 11th, 2008 Filed under: Funny Ha Ha's, Baby Talk, Just Me, Family Ties by Tammy

My kids are very funny characters. They have me laughing everyday. Around this house we have a imaginary person. That person’s name is Bob. Bob could be a stuffed toy, a piece of furniture, the snowman the kids made in December, A shoe. You get the picture. Bob is pretty much a catch all name. Nikki started this months ago on a particular funny day. Out of nowhere she just called her hot chocolate Bob. And then she ran into this very funny spontaneous skit all about her new buddy, Bob.

Flash forward to this afternoon. My son was walking toward me holding a gray stuff cat. Now previously this stuffed toy was named, Smokey, by the kids. Dani walked up behind Drew and scooped him up, hugging him and said, “Hi Andrew, Hi Smokey.” (Yeah she talks to inanimate objects, lol) and as if right on cue… in a cute but firmly defiant tone Drew pulled away from her and says, “His name is not Smokey…It’s Bob!” and with a Humph and a giggle.. he was off playing, lol.

I immediately cracked up. I think mostly because of the mater of fact way he made sure Dani was clear on what to call the toy… and also because of all the names he could have come out with… he choose… Bob.
